Douglas Commercial Fabrications holds two BSI Kitemark certifications:

• KM 618254: This certification approves the company to manufacture enhanced security aluminium doors.

• KM 618245: This certification approves the company to manufacture enhanced security aluminium windows.

Both certifications are granted under the standards BS 4873 and PAS 24:2016, which set out specifications for the quality and security performance of aluminium alloy windows and doorsets.

BS 4873:2016: This British Standard specifies requirements for the design, construction, and performance of aluminium alloy windows and doorsets. It ensures that products meet criteria for aspects such as strength, durability, and weather resistance. Compliance with BS 4873:2016 indicates that the manufacturer's products are constructed to a high standard suitable for their intended purpose.

PAS 24:2016: This Publicly Available Specification outlines enhanced security performance requirements for doorsets and windows in the UK. It focuses on the ability of these products to withstand various types of attacks typically associated with opportunistic burglars. The standard includes tests that simulate forced entry attempts, such as manual attack methods and mechanical loading. Compliance with PAS 24:2016 demonstrates that the products offer a recognized level of security suitable for dwellings and other buildings exposed to comparable risk.

It's important to note that PAS 24:2016 has been superseded by PAS 24:2022+A1:2024. The updated standard reflects changes in criminal methods and includes updates to referenced industry documents, clarifying test methods based on feedback from accredited test laboratories.
